The World Classification System

USECS from http://semanticwww.com

The largest lexical knowledgebase management system online.

USECS is a large lexical knowledgebase of English. Nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are grouped into ontological primitives, each expressing a top level category of things. All words are arranged in a common hierarchical network of entity names. The resulting network of meaningfully related words and terms can be navigated with the browser.

USECS is available for download, in parts and as a whole content. The structure of USECS makes it the most valuable means for building

    ontologies
    effective semantic web systems
    inferential mechanisms
    domain knowledge bases
    advanced information retrieval systems
    terminologies
    vocabularies
    natural language applications

USECS mottos:

Each name (URI) identifies a thing (a single Resource); distinct names (URIs) are assigned to distinct things (Resources).

All names (URIs) make a single universal hierarchy of terms (identifiers), used to uniquely identify any thing (Resource) in the world.

Standard Ontology and Semantics (SOS) URIs

Note: upper level aliases accepted in all URIs
        world = universe = existence = cosmos
        thing = being = entity = resource

Our Strategic Goals

To date, domain Internet names (generic top-level domain names and country code top-level domain nam es, based on the DNS hierarchy, with the IP addresses as host identifiers) are assigned by ICANN, a non-profit corporation, http://www.icann.org/. It's current high aim is how to build the Internet's system of centrally coordinated identifiers. To contribute to the cause, we are committed to the fo llowing outstanding changes, essential for building real semantic web and intelligent Internet:

  1. Assigning globally unique and permanent URI's to all entities (information web resources, netwo rk-retrievable entities, and non-information resources, as individuals, collections, and abstraction s, network-irretrievable entities), using the existent DNS.
  2. Developing a universal name space as .world or .entity or .thing, which is to systematically or der all existent namespaces as .com., .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name, .pro and new sponsored ones as .gov, .edu, .int, .jobs, .tel, .mil, .travel, .jobs, .mobi, .cat, etc.
  3. Working out lower-level ontology domains in the domain name hierarchy up to the ground level, c onsidering the new Internet protocol version, IPv6, with 3.4 x 10**38 unique addresses

Making Sense of a Senseless Internet: a case of Internet domain names.

The whole concept of domain name sales is false; for the number of domain names is virtually infinite and should be distributed free. Instead, the meaningful URI names, which are hard to construct, should be served, distributed and sold to public.

We have to advance the new Internet, founded on the knowledge infrastructure as top-level URIs and domain URIs, generic top-level ontologies and domain ontologies, semantic metadata and effective reasoning mechanisms, thus building the meaningful global cyberspace with the intelligent WWW.
